Ye (né Kanye Omari West, le 8 juin 1977) est un rappeur, auteur-compositeur, producteur de musique et créateur de mode américain. Il est largement considéré comme l'un des artistes et producteurs de hip-hop les plus influents et comme l'un des plus grands musiciens de sa génération. Né à Atlanta et élevé à Chicago, West a d'abord gagné en reconnaissance en tant que producteur pour Roc-A-Fella Records au début des années 2000, produisant des singles pour plusieurs artistes et développant le style de sampling "chipmunk soul". Déterminé à poursuivre une carrière solo en tant que rappeur, il a sorti son premier album studio, The College Dropout (2004), qui a été un succès critique et commercial. Il a fondé le label GOOD Music la même année. Les opinions franches de West ont fait l'objet d'une importante couverture médiatique ; il a souvent suscité la controverse en raison de son comportement sur les réseaux sociaux, lors de cérémonies de remise de prix et dans des lieux publics, ainsi que de ses commentaires sur l'industrie de la musique et de la mode, la politique américaine, les questions raciales et l'esclavage.
